Crime Suppression Division police swooped on a temple in Saraburi and arrested a woman who was part of a dozen member gang preying on tourists at floating markets in Samut Songkhram last year.

Patchara, 46, had been traced to the temple of Wat Charoentham where she was a market trader.

She admitted to three previous offences and said she got out of jail most recently in March 2018.

She was one of a dozen people in a pick-pocket gang who stole 100,000 baht worth of goods from tourists at Amphawa and Damnoen Saduak floating markets on May 26th last year.

Four have now been arrested - eight remain at large.

The long arm of the law doesn't quite reach from the US to Saraburi.

(For the hard-of-learning: It was a joke, but only just - the big man is allegedly back in Thailand now)

All news of him has gone suspiciously quiet as if news outlets are scared of something..... someone

My Mom had her handbag cut at Chatuchak about 20 years ago when she was over visiting me.  Didn't lose anything luckily but the pick pockets are out there at the main tourist spots.
