Sanook reported that workers ran for their lives as a giant concrete beam came loose as it was being hoisted by two cranes.

The beam sliced one of the workers' cars - a Mitsubishi - in two.

The accident happened during construction of a bridge extension that is part of the new Route 6 road between Bang Pa-in and Nakorn Ratchasima.

A bridge is being built over a reservoir.

The accident happened on Saturday and the beam was still in place when Sanook got there. An investigation is underway.

They can't even wait for the road to be completed before they start writing off their cars.

Why the hell would you park a car any where near to this area where they are lifting these things , and the spoiler on the back of the vehicle isn't going to help

Thais and cranes.

Sometimes the crane falls, sometimes the load falls.

If you see a crane working: run!

Don't you believe it Thai's are quite good at "cut-n-shuts"!!

You know that health and safety is the bane of the west,

but when you see what happens when none is applied is shocking.

Remember thailand this could be a new hub.
