A fire swept through a slum community in Surin’s Muang district early on Tuesday, destroying around 10 homes, police said.

Police said the fire at the Nong Bua community behind the Surin Bus Terminal started at 12.10am and engines took about half an hour to put out the blaze.

No one was injured in the fire that caused community dwellers to grab their valuables and flee for their lives.

Police have yet to investigate the cause of the fire.

Who bets the results when the investigation is actually done will find very little to look at.

That area is directly across from where the Farang Connection was. It is directly in back of the old location of the Green Mango and the Oasis Bar.

Unfortunately the same thing happened too near where i lived. Fire at night running thru a row of slum/squatter homes.

In a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, the area was rebuilt with B60million villas. ????

And it won't be the last accidental night time fire started with a candle !
