TAT starts promoting Phuket to Isarn

PHUKET:-- Representatives from some 50 Phuket tourism business operators this week joined a road show to Isarn, Thailand’s Northeast, to promote travel to Phuket.

 

The event, held at the Centara Hotel & Convention Center Udon Thani on Tuesday (June 25), was organised by the Phuket office of the Tourism authority of Thailand (TAT), Phuket Tourism Business Association and Thai AirAsia.

 

Presiding over the opening ceremony was Udon Thani Vice Governor Sitthichai Jindaluang.

No Phuket wants to challenge Pattaya for the gold medal on prostitution, bring in many second tier travellers.

Strange place to look for cashed up tourists. May as well try Burundi.

 

Perhaps they are selling cheap tours so parents can visit their daughters in Patong and Pattaya.

"pie in the sky" - how do you expect the less well off people in Issan to take a holiday in one of the most expensive Thai resorts! The only travelers will be those seeking a job (in the sex industry, no doubt). 

Sounds like a recruitment drive for fresh Bangla Rd. female bar staff. 

Seriously, you guys think Isaan is just poor people and whores. Obviously you live sheltered lives and don't get out and about much. Sure there is poverty there, but there are many many rich folks as well.  

Half of Isaan already live here why waste money?

I agree. I suspect the negative and trashy posts are fueled by booze, low self esteem, ignorance and a miserable outlook on life.
