Video: Shots fired as ice truck chased across NE Thailand - "high" driver captured

Police chasing an ice delivery van across several districts in the north east of Thailand fired shots to make the driver stop. 

 

The action was shown on a composite video on the Sanook site. 

 

The drama started in Wichianburi, Petchabun, when the van failed to stop at a checkpoint.

 

Police chasing radioed ahead but still the driver went through further checkpoints set up in Phu Toei and Sri Thep districts. 

 

As the van was in a secluded section near the provincial border with Lopburi Pol Col Pheerapetch Ubonjit of the Wichianburi police decided to fire to shoot out the tires.

 

This stopped the chase and Bunlai, 50, was surrounded and taken into custody. 

 

He appeared to be high on drugs and/or alcohol. 

 

Eight Ya Ba tablets were found on his person and his urine tested purple, a positive sign for drugs.

 

He was initially charged with possession and taking of a Class 1 drug and driving under the influence of drugs.

What did they expect ? he was an "ice" driver after all

Once again thai police fail to understand the meaning of emergency . For Christ sake ice was melting, driver needed to get to his location fast????

That is one cool dude  ???? 

This was bound to happen.

To much ice and sugar in those ice-coffee cups and not enough caffeine

I wondered how they got those holes through the ice...Lol.

 

Great Road Blocks eh; they couldn't close an Umbrella !
