Police in Chanthaburi hope that the use of mobile phone tracking technology made famous in the movie Fast and Furious 7 will help catch a would be ATM thief.

Thai media called the technology "Taa Thep" or Angel Eyes.

A man on a Yamaha motorcycle placed an explosive device at an ATM at the Tesco Lotus branch in Khlung, Chantaburi.

After several days of using traditional methods to try and track down the culprit officers from the metropolitan police have come in with the high tech answer from the movie, said Daily News.

Yesterday Pol Maj-Gen Chettha Komonwanthana and his team said that the would be thief - he fled without getting any money - would soon be in custody.

Police have information that a security guard was sacked following the installation of an online security system.

Yeah, that´s the way to go. Compare a fictional movie, with ongoing investigation and real life. That will be perfect for everybody that already belives they can du everything that is done in the TV-soaps without any responsibility. Pour more gasoline on the fire. Good job!

It really seems that in Thailand he tries to copy the soap opera and he forgets the reality!

Sadly Thailand has merged from being a copy into a real life soap opera!

Is there a Thai equivalent to counting one's chickens before they are hatched saying?  If they do catch him, perhaps they can put that in the movie.  ????????
