The beauty contestants take in the great outdoors of Nakhon Ratchasima province and get up close to a hydropower station amid a day of diverse activities on Wednesday.

Contestants in the Miss Thailand World 2019 pageant put some of the traditional glamour aside when they went for the hard hat look in a tour of Nakhon Ratchasima.

The 24 pageant hopefuls were taking part in the second day of outdoor activities in the northeastern province as part of the competition's preliminary round on Wednesday.

In the morning, the contestants visited the Lamtakong Jolabha Vadhana hydropower plant in Pak Chong district, which is only underground power plant in Thailand.

In the afternoon, they joined up with Government Savings Bank workers in a tree-planting activity, doing so by shooting Makha Mong (afzelia) seeds into the air with slingshots. They then enjoyed cultural activities, such as cooking Korat-style stir-fried noodles, dancing and sharing in a meal with residents in Sikhieo district.

When are the beautiful ones going to be photographed?

Was about to ask the same question.

What a farce.

Harmless but also pointless.

Sums up most things that Thais organise

Tree planting is helpful.

They make the money for hospital etc

And can win the prize.

I think have “Miss” competition in most countries.

Do you mock, criticize, ridicule and complain about other country every day?

or only Thailand?

A lot of people like it. Is fun. Why not?

But other countries in these competitions have their contestants acting like the adults they are, unlike Thais that point, giggle and act like little children. Guess its the maturity thing again that Thailand seems to lack well behind on.
