Two Thai workers were killed in South Korea when their passenger van carrying 16 people of various nationalities skidded off a mountain road en route to a farm, the Korean Times reported on Monday.

Initial reports indicate that the two Thais, whose identities have not yet been released, the van driver and another passenger of unknown nationality were seriously injured after the van crashed through a guard rail. Nine other people in the vehicle were also injured.

All the dead and injured were rushed to the hospital and two of them were identified as Thai nationals. The Korean Times quoted the police as saying that the van driver might have lost control of his vehicle, as it was on a steep hill, after having been behind the wheel for more than five hours.
