Culture, History, Society Courses

Featured Replies

All,

I am middle aged, have post graduate education on humanities in UK. I speak beginner Thai and live here on retirement visa.

I would like to know if there are any options for me to study history, culture, society or Thai studies in general, either in Bangkok or elsewhere.

I can commit for medium long term (months, or even years), but I need something in English (cannot study in Thai) and something where as a middle age farang I would not stand out too much...

Serious answers much appreciated.

Aloha Mate,

Chiang Mai University,  Khon Kaen University,  Payap (?)  These schools run international programs thus the Thai profs can speak English at some level of teaching proficiency.

In Bangkok   (MUIC) Mahidol University International College.   Met many western students in that program and they were excellent students especially in Debate.

My suggestion about standing out, well, you will.  Not much you can do, be humble and a good student, and learn.

Good Luck.
