Vinyl floor tile thickness?

Featured Replies

Is 3mm too thin? What's the downside of using a thinner tile, the feel or just durability?

What would be the min recommended thickness?

Is it a tile or a plank.

The 3mm vinyl tile, 300*300 is about as cheap and cheerful as you can get for a tile.

A vinyl sheet flooring for a bathroom is around 2mm...infact linoleum is singing out.

A decent vinyl kliklok plank style will start at 6mm and goes upwards to maybe 20mm.,these look fantastic and the photogrsphic woodgrain images look like real wood (as they do with ceramic tiles also)

The thin tiles will not last long, drop something on them and they will dent like a car door, after a while they will lose any elasticity they had and next time you drop something it will crack.

Lay them on an uneven floor and it will crack very quickly..

Try looking at cushion floor vinyl or a better grade of plank.

I do recall you saying you were refurbishing a condo. Get tge floor right first time and you dont have to worry about the place being empty for weeks on end while you renew the floor.

"you will remember the quality long after the price"
