Renting a pickup or suv in Khon Kaen

Featured Replies

Flying into Khon Kaen to visit the family in a neighbouring province for a month.

Looking to rent a pickup or suv - Hilux or Fortuner , I have checked with the usual airport rental companys and choices are limited and prices seem abit steep.

Any recomedations would be much appreciated.

Many thanks .

Sometimes private individuals rent out their automobiles. Don’t

know where you could check maybe Craigslist? Or ask your relatives.

Make sure you have a valid Thai drivers license or valid drivers license from your home country and a International Drivers license

which in US is easily obtained at AAA.

Cheers

Don

Not many choices I'm afraid. And indeed SUV rental prices are crazy high. Used Sixt couple times and experienced good service.

I've rented multiple times from the Kohn Kaen airport - I've used Budget for sure and Avis (I think it was Avis, maybe Hertz. Whatever was in the airport there) - the price was 1600 Baht per day for a Toyota Vigo Double Cab 2.5

Used Sixt from the airport on my last trip, though admittedly for a saloon not a pick-up.  Not sure what there choice is like on those but prices on pick-ups seem to be high wherever I've looked these days.  Would defo use Sixt again though next time

Had a quick look on Rentalcars app, around 1000B per day for 30 day hire Vigo hardtop from Budget. Last time I rented was around 3 years ago and from memory cost was similar. hope you find a good deal.
