When crossing the border from Laos at Nongkhai is there a minivan service into central Udon Thani direct from the border crossing or do I need to go into the town?

I’ve only been there once and the city looks to be in walking distance. Should be transportation available. I parked my moto at 

7/11 and crossed into Laos and back the same day. 

Not sure but Ive always found it most convenient to return on the Thai lao intrnational bus from Vientiane bus station to Udon bus station which is right in the centre of Udon.
