Celebrating anniversary with wife and kids: recommended restaurants

Featured Replies

Hello everybody

I am looking for a nice place to celebrate my marriage anniversary with wife and my 2 kids (daughter is 8 son is 2).

I am just looking for a quite and nice place for the dinner.

I was thinking of The Chao Praya Princess dinner (4100 baht all four). They could love this one but honestly I don't know if it is a great idea.

Any suggestion?

Thank you in advance

The kids would probably appreciate Maccy Ds or KFC rather than a sit down at the Princess.

How much is a two year old going to eat?

Det 5 at Sukhumvit Soi 8 on a Friday night. All you can eat free buffet, just buy a drink for 40 or 50 baht ????

Yes, Det 5 is perfect for a family dinner.  If it's not raining, it has a good open-air vibe, and an expansive menu of both Thai and western dishes at affordable prices.

Thank you all for your replies.

I agree that maybe the boat is not the option for my 2 years old kid.

Det 5 is not a bad idea but i d like something more quite. Not sure soy 8 is that quite on a sunday evening. I have never been there by the way, i could be wrong.

Indique looks out of my budget (5k baht) according to tripadvisor.

Yes i do drive

Boat can be loud when they turn the music up after eating...and you can't get away. You are stuck there for 2 hours.

I'm with wg when he suggests a family atmosphere like for pizza or burgers...the older daughter can range about and the 2 year old can scream his head off and no one is bothered...the food pretty much costs the same and burgers, pizza and fried chicken are more kid friendly...

thank you all for your kind replies.

I have decided for a mid range restaurant with a nice view of the river and the Wat Arun Temple. The menu is thai but my kids have no problem with that so i think it will be ok. Just hope the weather won't be too bad, at least in the sunset hours.

cheers and thanks again

Just an observation, you use quite when you should be using quiet, two different words with different meanings.

In other news, hope you all have a great dinner, especially the children.
