"Billy Liar" tried to con his mum and dad by pretending he had been kidnapped

A 27 year old Thai man tried to con his mother and father out money by pretending he had been kidnapped by a loan shark and held for ransom.

They have forgiven him - even though he tried to rip them off once before when he was in school.

Udon Thani police chief Pol Col Sarayuth Champhiw was interviewing parents Wichian, 47, and Janya, 45 after their son Anucha, 27, had caused an alert by claiming he was being held by a kidnapper.

Wichian said the drama was over - his son had called in the early hours of the morning to say he was in Loei and was fine but he still needed 40,000 baht to pay off a friend who had loaned him money.

They were relieved he was fine. The kidnapping story was all made up.

Wichian told reporters that their son had got degree and became a Thai teacher for a while in a school but he really wanted to go into the entertainment industry and hung around with mor lam folk (Thai country singers).

He had tried out as a singer but had failed in that regard and was now unemployed.

While at school he had tried to get 5,000 - 10,000 baht from his parents on some ruse but since then he had been a good boy.

Dad said he is just a pig delivery man earning 10,000 baht. He forgave his son and just wanted him home to sort things out.

Pol Col Sarayuth warned everyone about making false claims and wasting police time.

They are trying to locate the errant son and bring him home though there has been no mention that he will face charges.

"They are trying to locate the errant son and bring him home .."

Why? He's 27 years old acting like 7 years old.

Bring him home and he'll be at it again.

And he's a qualified teacher! You couldn't make this up.

What an absolute plonker, some folk will go to any lengths to get money, but trying to con his own parents sheesh, that is the lowest of the low.

Failed Teacher, failed singer, failed self-kidnapper, but now successfully unemployed, congratulations.

If he was my kid, he'd be cleaning out the pig van until in full employment again.

It seems like the tossers entertainment career is working out OK. Poor old pig delivery Dad. Why didn't he threaten his son with including him with the pigs?
