We have acquired a shop house (tall and narrow) - consisting of ground floor, mezzanine, plus further three floors.  It is 4m wide by 14-15m deep.  Ours is an end unit with a narrow (2m) alley running the depth of the building.

At present it has minimal facilities, namely straight concrete staircases to each floor in the rear right hand corner.  There is electricity with an array of switches and sockets and a fuse box on each floor.  In addition there is an elementary bathroom (shower, lavatory and wash basin) on ground floor on right before staircase and on top two floors on left about two thirds down.

Does anyone know of any designs for these types of buildings?  Such narrow buildings are not common in the west.

Can anyone recommend a designer and/or contractor.  In case location is important, our building is in Bangkok, in the Bon Marche area (Wat Samian Nari) but I do not think that makes much difference.

We would like to add windows, gain roof access and perhaps a roof terrace, replace the steel roller blinds at both ends with walls and have a "proper" entrance.  And then there is in internal layout, partitions, electrics, plumbing etc.

Thank you for any suggestions and recommendations

Tons of renovated Thai shop houses into neat city one family houses.

Front rolling doors are bricked up into a proper doorway and you have the option to close off the 2nd floor or use that open space a high ceiling living room.

Use google translate and check out the links.

For what purpose did you acquire the property?

The activities of other owners/tenants in the block could well be a major consideration, before you invest more.
