New Hotel and Shopping Centre in Naklua Soi 18/2, Grand Center Point 2

Hi,

just learned that on the land of the former hotels Garden Lodge and East Sea Resort a new massiv project is coming by the same owners of Terminal 21

The land just about 500m from T21 already cleared and at the construction fens is a picture which is showing similar design of Terminal 21 with hotel tower on top, just smaller......

So some very rich people do have a vision for Pattaya? Or is it just money laundry and/or a sign for something big on the horizon and money need to be secured?

What do you think?

I would bet something is afoot .... if betting were allowed that is. Huge tracts of land on 2nd Road on both sides between Klang and Central Marina are also ripe for redevelopment. People in high places know what is happening, the likes of me can only guess.

I think it's just more evidence of Pattaya's continuing evolution.  Bangkok Hospital building Jomtien Hospital next to Chic Republic.  Amari building an all-suites addition. Ozo Hotel about finished to join the fairly new Mytt Hotel. A-01 Hotel doing a renovation of their beachfront. Lots of boutique hotels going in like LK Emerald Beach and Golden Tulip.

It's really pretty amazing how north Pattaya by Second Road has been radically changed from what it was just a few years ago.  And, it continues to get better with that horrible abandoned concrete eyesore by McDonalds now being redeveloped--among other projects.

I had noticed the new Centre Point development that's the subject of this post--the photo on the construction fence looks like it will be an impressive project.  A bit up the street more land is being cleared in front of The Cove--likely something else new going in.  It's all positive in my book.

I would not be surprised if these malls were designed to be easily repurposed in the future.  As another member suggests, most likely into casinos.

There's no money in having a good food court in such a big shopping mall.  ????

Getting the land before anybody else is the main thing now.

Maybe „recreation“ building could later be interpreted as casino ;-) ?

Most unlikely a casino, gambling is illegal. Don't really see that changing.

Sure, and it helps if you have inside information about future law changes.  ????

I did say it's possible the building is designed in such a way that it could be easily repurposed, probably into a casino.

Right now, gambling / casinos are illegal.  Who knows about the future?

Officials with insider knowledge may know that plans exist for future changes to this law, so, as another member suggested, buy big blocks of land now, while it's cheaper, then laws change to allow casinos, and your land, and possibly what you have built on it, is now worth a lot more.
