So..  Stopped with the ThaiVisa App on the phone - too many annoying adverts covering the whole page.

Then I stopped using ThaiVisa on my phone completely, too many pop-up adverts which we have to wait 12 seconds for before we can continue reading. 

 

Now, using ThaiVisa on my laptop the Adverts pop up and they can't be closed until the whole video has run (usually 5 seconds). 

 

I get it with the banners at the side of the page - advertisement is a crucial source of revenue, but the Pop ups blocking content has become rather irritating to the point I just  close the page and move on to the next subject ... Welcome to the new world? or does ThaiVisa care so little for its readers that it allows the popups?

Thanks... going with the Taoism approach...

I used the Connect app on an iPhone and after the initial ad when you open it was never bothered again, I tried Thaivisa via the Tapatalk app and again don’t recall many ads.

Now Thaivisa on mobile browser ( Safari on iOS), now that is full of ads covering the notifications and generally getting in the way with the drop down format.

 

Bring back Connect app I say !!

If they moved the pop up ads to the classified section, you would never see them again!

 

the perceived wisdom here seems to be in your face advertising works;

 

- the promotional girls in shopping malls and their cranked up PAs

- the noisy ads on public transportation

- watch thai tv and you'll see adverts popping up all over the screen, banners across the screen, blatant product placement...

 

and maybe advertising methods that would annoy and turn off people back home work here. the thing to bear in mind is that the user base here is predominantly foreigners and possibly more nuanced, subtle and creative advertising would be more effective, it would certainly be less annoying.

No such issues (using FireFox on Mac and Chrome on Android).

Yes more adverts here than any other website. 

 

Mods, can we have an update of approximately when the apps will be available again? 1 week? 2 weeks?

No problem for me I use Brave browser..... NO adds.
