BANGKOK (NNT) - Prior to the Cabinet meeting today, the Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha took part in public relation campaigns from several government agencies promoting their events.

Starting with the Office of the National Anti-Corruption Commission, commission officials gave a shirt and brooch for the International Anti-Corruption Day event in Thailand, which will be taking place on 9 December 2019 at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani exhibition center in Nonthaburi. The Prime Minister raised his right hand as a symbol for the international anti-corruption movement.

The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security today promoted the International Day of People with Disabilities by bringing them to meet with the Prime Minister, who received a brooch marking this occasion and observed a drink making demonstration by disabled people at the Sixty Plus shop at the government house, which will be opened this month. He asked all sides to support and promote equality for people with disabilities.

The Ministry of Interior held a showcase of gift baskets containing OTOP products, products from community enterprises, royal projects and the SUPPORT Foundation. These gift baskets are intended to be given out this New Year holidays. The Prime Minister also asked the general public to refrain giving liquor as gifts, and instead opt for OTOP products.

The OTOP campaign has so far generated 300 billion baht revenue to the country, while attracting interest from foreign customers. The Prime Minister said the government is willing to expand OTOP products marketing to reach a broader customer base.

He didn't raise it - he held it out, palm up.  Prawit offered his watch hand.

Normal Thai people either can't afford the over priced basket of useless items or will buy far more sensible gifts. Another pathetic photo op proving he is a basket case !

I remember a few years ago those baskets used to have a bottle of 'falling down water' as part of the deal. Usually everything else went to the monks over a few mornings.

Hmmm; beer, wine, OTOP gift basket: which of these will not be on my Santa list?

Community product gift baskets packed with bottles of Lao Khao would go down very well here in rural Issan!!
