Will Central's prices be reduced to reflect them not paying for the sbuttles, or the fact that tourists have to pay for taxis now?

Central does not sell anything, only rents out shop space.

These thugs are a pervasive and irritating bad image for Thailand, and is well known if something presents a bad image for Thailand, send in the cops and organize a photo op. I can only wish.

I am surprised to see Central (which is owned by one of Thailands most influential families) cave in to taxi thugs? The gross rip offs by Phuket taxi drivers, not to mention frequent beating up of tourists, needs to stop.

Do the taxi drivers run the country?

Yes

Oh dear, the usual comments by people completely unaffected by this. (Phuket is pooh, no public transport, etc)

Personally I wish they had been told to Foxtrot Oscar and escorted off the premises.

Central festival in Pattaya has also a free shuttle available

(On beach road side, not far from the starbuck and the Hilton)

and it seems there is no any problem with the taxis.

Phuket is very special and deserves the central authorities from Bangkok

to look into the taxi problem here.

They have been able to solve the beach occupation some years ago

so if they want to do it, they can

@stevenl or anyone here, who is the taxi mafia to tell a major shopping center how they can conduct certain aspects of their business?

And to see that Central group caved so easily is equally disgusting.
