Isuzu Vcross 2014 4WD fuel economy

Featured Replies

Had my vehicle since new. Never felt like the fuel economy was what it should be. Getting 1000km max to a tank if that, and thats on a trip.

Its a very basic 5 speed manual diesel. (For the record I have checked it is in high range 2WD)

I have noticed there has been an orange light coming on recently, looks like a small fuel pump symbol, obviously showing high fuel usage. Never noticed it before but last trip seen this little symbol coming on randomly usually when I would put my foot down and revs would increase over 3000 rpm. But I see now seems to be coming on at 2000rpm. Obviously will have to take it to Isuzu to check but wondering if anyone knows what it might be? My manual is in Thai and don't seem to be able to find one online in English so no help to me. Could I have changed a setting or something?

I just went out and checked the instrument menu. It's very basic poverty pack model. Doesn't seem like there is anywhere to change fuel economy settings, only units etc. There doesn't appear to be an economy / sport switch like on many cars. I just changed the fuel economy unit to show average Km / L rather than instantaneous fuel consumption and showing around 11.8km to the litre (28 mpg) which doesn't appear to be too bad. Not sure if that is normal or high. I don't really have a heavy foot.

Anyone else out there owns a 2014 2.4 Isuzu? What sort of mileage are you getting?

In the meantime I did find that and yes fuel filter warning light. It must be getting worse as the light seems to be coming on more frequently. Have I ever changed it? Well the vehicle has 80k km on the clock and never missed a factory service. Whether it was due to be done in that period or whether they would have actually done it anyway is anybodies guess. AT least I know what it is now. Can probably get that done anywhere. Have another 5000km until the next service due

Well you can go Izusu and change the filter before the next service which would be best.
