What's 71 got to do with it. Macca & Sir Ringo, Mick & Keith, Hank & Bruce, Sirs Cliff & Tom, and me!

I am so embarrassed.    My body is not that far behind either.  Mentally I haven't aged past 25, though.  The mirror is such an adept liar.

In theory I've retired but mentally I'm still waiting to start my first real job. All my jobs up to now- a foundry worker, greenhouse gardener, baker, postman, chicken salesman, telephone clerk, teacher, were all just jobs filling in time till I found my real vocation.

Now I've found it, a DJ organic farmer ( I can hear the grass grow... ).

Your CV reads like mine, bannork.  LOL  I have a closet full of hats.  Jack of all trades.  Perhaps you've forgotten one?

All in all, life's been good, hasn't it?  I'm sure this iteration of me is destined for induction into the Incarnations of Me Hall of Fame.

Edit:  The above just brought a forgotten memory to mind.  One of my best mates got himself hitched for the third time when he was 48.  At one point during the reception we were talking together and a younger dude joined in.  He didn't know who I was and as soon as my mate introduced me his eyes popped a bit and he exclaimed, "No sh!t . . . I've heard so many stories about you.  You're a legend!"  LOL  I'm sure he was more infatuated with the era of which I was merely a representation.  Still, though, it warmed my heart.

Some Monday morning humour . . . and a few shared memories.

For a time I was a service bartender at an Italian pizzeria located in Lincoln Park, a hip and happening location on Chicago's near north side.  One of our waiters was a wild and flamboyant gay Italian dude, proudly exhibiting all of the overly exaggerated feminine qualities such as the constant effeminate hand gestures.  Quite handsome and he was blessed with the looks of a lady killer had he been straight.  And he had the hots for me (unfortunately for him as I was, still am, and forever will be a worshiper of the exquisite female body (especially the Thai version)).

One night he approaches me at the bar and cups a goodly chunk of light brown hashish into my hand.  I thank him and go about my business.  "No, no, eat it now!" he exclaims.  "What??!! I say with some outrage.  Anyway, he convinces me and I hose it down my throat with some beer.  I'd never eaten hash before but I can tell you now that the experience more than makes up for the bitter taste.

Now, I still had a few friends whom I imagined would be as appreciative of this blonde Lebanese hash as I was (this was a time in my life when I was exiting the world of dope).  So arrangements were made and a few days later we drove together to his house to procure a half a brick.  Little did I know that his entire extensive Italian family was just as off kilter as he was.  His sweet and plump auntie, somewhere in her mid-fifties, made for the perfect inconspicuous runner.  One of his cousins, whereabouts quite secretive, was the dealer.  Another of his cousins served as the local dealer.

So we consummate the deal and as I'm walking towards the door his cousin shockingly asks, "But you haven't tried it!!!"  "No, it's O.K." I says, as I'm sure of the quality.  Still holding the other half of the brick he then proceeds to break off a decent size chunk worth more than a few grams and forces it into my hands.  "Well, try it later, then."  LOL  These people were truly bizarre.  Ah, days gone by.

Now, I'm sure, no one will ever want to meet me in person, LOL.

YT Note: Age-restricted video (based on Community Guidelines) LOL

Coppers still looking for you, eh?  Thailand is a good place to hide.  It's said so often on TV that most farang are here either for the sex or they've got something to hide.  LOL  A farmer . . . what perfect cover.

My gawd, what's happening to me???  What did you put into my coffee, bannork??

Looks like you've been indoors too long. Get out in that midday sun with a couple of mad dogs.

I know you're from the other side of the pond but Noel wouldn't have minded, especially as you were/are such a big hit with the gay community!

I would but @talahtnut has Gnasher quarreltined as well.  He's taking no chances as he seriously wants that "I Survived Covid-19" T-shirt to go along with his "I Survived the 60's" and "I Survived the Thai Ladyboys (kinda)" T-shirts.

When we finally do meet in the flesh (ahem), bannork, I've got these awesome pink Speedo underwear I want you to wear.  No one will ever be able to claim afterwards that, despite your age, you lack any muscle.  LOL

In the meanwhile, enjoy flying high.

The childhood part of my life
Wasn't very pretty
(Boom, boom-boom, boom)
See, I was born and raised
In the slums of Hull city
(Boom, boom-boom, boom)

. . . . . .

Remember these guys?  I don't.  Commercial rock at it's boring-est.

Another great tune with Rod on vocals, Morning Dew.

I love Long John Baldry's version, full of passion.

Poison, a tremendous song, Tippers. Gets right under the skin.

Mott The Hoople with One Of The Boys off of their '72 All The Young Dudes LP.

I saw Mott the Hoople in the early 70s.

I always liked their contribution to the Nice Enough to Eat sampler, At the Crossroads. And then this headbanger.

The Beatles with It's Only Love off of their '65 Help! LP.

First album I ever bought, with Mum's money of course. She thought I was going for the single at 7 shillings and 6 pence but the shop only had the LP at 30 bob. She coughed up reluctantly, then got moody listening to Dizzy Miss Lizzy. ' That rock and roll is so out of date' .

She never understood The Beatles, ' I am the Walrus' completely floored her.

Love this Harrison contribution and the organ riff.

Long John is an underrated artist, IMHO.  And you're right about his Morning Dew cover.  Off of his '80 Long John Baldry LP.

Classic Baldry on Don't Try To Lay No Boogie Woogie On The King Of Rock And Roll off of his '71 It Ain't Easy LP.  This number got proper air time on the progressive rock station I used to listen to in the 70's.  Love the "Conditional Discharge" intro monologue.

Reminds me of a vastly different world when 9-year old kids could still fly solo, unaccompanied by adults, and folks could still see travelers off at the boarding gate.  Too bad they didn't used dated vids with the old prop aeroplanes corresponding to that era.

We Five with High Flying Bird off of their '67 Make Someone Happy LP.

The Association with Never My Love off of their '67 Insight Out LP.  How many posters here slow danced with their dream chick to this tune?  Our school had Tween Night every Friday evening during the autumn semesters.  The perfect opportunity to launch a steady date with the hottie in your class.
