Selling Car Residence Changed Since Owning How About Certificate?

Recommended Posts

I'm selling my car and assume I need a residence certificate. The residence on the blue book is my old residence, not my current one. If I get a certificate with my current residence, will this be a problem?

Thanks in advance for any help with this. I've done a search but haven't found anything about this specific issue.

Depends where you are trying to sell (which province) whether a foreign seller requires a certificate or not..

they may  want  you to update the blue book to latest residence address , but the only real way to know is to go to your local Department of Land Transportation and ask what their requirements are..

Now what if the buyer comes from say for example  Bangkok and  would like to register it there..but the car is  currently registered in ChaingMai now they ( not you) have a whole other set of  "problems" ????

Doesn't usually matter just get your papers to sell the car from your local DLT office and get help filling them out if you are selling privately.

If you sell to one of many dealers or vehicles tents then they do it all for you.
