Police and rescue services in Kanchanaburi in western Thailand were called after a van taking students to a university on Sunday overturned on a bend.

The accident happened on Route 323 in Nong Bua sub-district heading towards Kanchanaburi.

Dead at the scene was a second year student 22 year old Sornthip from Thong Phaphoom district.

Eleven people were injured and taken to hospital.

The driver of the Toyota van said he had picked up the students from Thong Phaphoom district and was heading for the tech university in Tha Muang district when he lost control of his vehicle at a bend in the road.

Muang Kanchanaburi police are investigating.

This guy should never ever transport people again. Nor should he be allowed to drive any other four wheeled vehicles. No excuse. RIP.

Sad, the young girl had to go through all this strange education and is now dead.

My condolences to her family and friends.

Unless it was a Toyota Alphard/Veilfire or Estima, conventional Toyota vans used to transport passengers do not come with a lot of driver aids, if any. To be safe, van drivers should invest in at least a traction-control system. In Thailand, that is known as an 'amulet'. The bigger, the better.

Snide remarks aside, RIP to the young lady. Another unnecessary death on Thai roads.

Lost control of the van in a bend??? That is a car that he drive on a daily basis. No chance he just lost control. He was speeding as usual. That´s the problems with these infants they let free behind wheels in Thailand.

Speeding or Brakes Failed Take your pick? Pity the driver survived and not the young girl becuase he probably driving again next week and might have another accident Did the cops even ask him the basic questions eg Like how fast were you going around that bend mate?Ha

He should never see daylight again.. murder charge !!!

if only the government would pay as much attention to the actual death toll on the roads as opposed to the potential death toll due to the cornonavirus...

Driver will probably move to Phuket, seeing as a couple of speedboat driver positions might be available soon ????

RIP for the poor girl, that's a life wasted by a stupid morron,

now let's describe the 2 step sequence of events.... the 1st one,  he was speeding and that's the obvious,  which led to the 2nd one, due to the high speed the brakes didn't respond when he tried to activate them

what a surprise, a van driver ! the kind that lifts his foot on/off the throttle all the way?

R.I.P another young life lost.

My prayers are with her family.

Rest in Peace Miss Thip :wai:
