If the prices are good maybe you give him a Rolex and get a Lolex in return - special price just for you.

PowerBuy on Sukhumvit rd got a Rolex repair center . Might be pricy but its the real deal.

It is not the question you asked but I don't believe there is a genuine Rolex service centre in Pattaya. I have a Tag and take it to Bangkok, requires a drop off trip and a pick up trip a few weeks later....can be done in a day.

When I lived in Pattaya I took my Rolex to Bangkok to an authorized Rolex dealer for servicing.

In Udon where I now live I took it to the authorized dealer at Central Mall and they sent it to Bangkok. Took about 3 months. Cost was 24K baht.

I wouldn't trust any place that is not a official Rolex dealer to handle it.

As others have said you will need to go to BKK to get it service or repaired. There are two SAB and Pendulum both near Wireless road. If you google either they will give details of how to find them. I can recommend Pendulum as I get my Breitling watch serviced by them. They speak very good English.

It will take some time as they have to send off for all the gaskets and other bit's that will have to be renewed. The good thing is you will know you have had it done by people that know what they are doing.

My last service with a few new parts mostly for the strap and re-polish case and strap came to 20k bht. Took around 8 weeks.

I can assure they aren't. You can also make monies out of a good one. I got mine some years ago for just over 2K UK pounds. The same model now retails at over 6.5K UK Pounds. And sell second hand if you have a service record for a lot more than I paid for it. Funny enough it also tells the time.

Very unlikely, unnecessary now as everyone carries a smartphone

Aren't there Smart watches now that mean no need to get the phone out?

I have a phone but still like a watch then I can leave phone in my pocket.

Smart watches are a novelty but maybe they will keep improving.  I don't miss wearing a watch, smartphones are often more accurate anyway. I did have a Gshock which updated daily via atomic sync, nice knowing the time is accurate, most lose time

Good watches hold time pretty well.... I tend to want to check time fairly frequently, and am conscious of getting out a phone in say a GGB.

Have a look at the amount of watches for sale on Ebay before you make uninformed comments. Every mall has several watch shops. Who's buying them, Martians?

It's obvious the number of people who wear watches is down, get more informed and look about, you're probably too busy scratching your toot.

In the past everyone wore a watch

Rolex will put you in touch with an authorised dealer/service person

Most people still do, do your research.

Are wrist watches obsolete?
In that sense, no, watches are not obsolete; they're worn and used daily by millions of people, and for everyday basic purposes, an analog (not a digital) wristwatch is still by far the easiest and quickest way to see what time of day it is.

rolex have an authorized repair shop in Bangkok, have sent mine from the local robinsons watch counter there when I needed a repair

I have heard this argument before, personally I find it so much easier to just glance at my left wrist rather than pull out a phone just to look at the time.

I particularly love those people who, standing within 50 metres of a very prominent clock, will ask "Do you know the time?"

I don't know if the shop is still there? there "was" a watch shop in Royal Garden, ground floor, the repair guy/owner was Rolex certified. Been a few years since I was in there.

Try it, take the watch off and within a week you won't even miss it. To be fair i waited until my Gshock died then that was the end

I have been wearing a watch for over 50 years, its not intrusive, a phone is!

Depends on your lifestyle I guess!

Your requirements are quite niche, less young people are wearing watches
