So what if there is a history of animism..... do you think that makes if true?  Do you believe in the ghosts and talk to the spirits?  There is a history of pixies, fairies, lipricorns, unicorns, in the West... do you believe in them too?  Also all the thousands of religions all over the world... each one thinking they are true.... Having a history of something like that does not mean such things are real.
