Once again these TV adverstisements messing up everything

I will have to install an extension to my browser then, was hoping to avoid it but there is a limit for everything.

OK, this is stupid beyond words. Not only is the VDO ad window blocking a good chunk of the screen, but it has crashed into a black "X" instead of a video. On every single page load. In Google Chrome, not Firefox, because of the other current stupid problem, the screen contents jumping up and down, and just about when your eyes get hold of the point where you were reading before the jump, the screen jumps away again. And then on top of it all, Google is now putting its ads across the bottom of the screen, ref the naked boxer from Krabi, and you have to dismiss the VDO before you can access the go-away box for the Google ad. ON EVERY SINGLE PAGE LOAD!!!!!!!!!! This is beyond stupid. For weeks now, since the VDO started then went away then came back again.

And there's nothing wrong with the image rendering in Google Chrome, because it may start out showing the VDO video, but it always quickly crashes, which didn't happen until today. At that point, the navigation controls of the browser become unreliable, or just stop working completely. Then the Google ad pops up .....

Something in my browser tells me I missed 74 ads in the past 90 seconds on the same page.

And now, the transparent Google ad, no content, that won't go away, but blocks the bottom of the screen.

Regarding complaints about ads on tvf i noticed nobody states which country they are logging in from. Some people say no ads some say lots of ads. I logged in via the USA on Thursday and tvf was unbelievable with ads. A banner ad right across the bottom and top of the screen, the VDO ad bottom right and adverts between the threads. The only difference was most ads had a cancel button.  On Friday I logged on via Bulgaria, it was like using a text only browser. No ads, no graphics, pages open instantaneously.

 

PS the page is jumping 2 inches every 30 seconds. Typing is impossible on tvf. Had to copy and paste from word

I don't get any of this stuff happening on my laptop or desktop. Is that because I am using a Linux OS, or blockers such as Privacy Badger and uBlock?

Occasionally, I'll get asked to disable the blockers. Thus far, I have not found a website which is so interesting I am tempted to comply.

I only ever get "speedy Thailand visa" hit the close and 5 seconds its gone, no other issues on android...I feel like I'm loosing out on something

I completely agree - the screen 'jump' every few seconds .. its as if it doe a refresh .. block than refresh and the screen layout is re-written on the screen .... (Win 7 - Firefox) ... writing this .. jumped 5 or 6 times ...  No reason why the site could have adds is less obtrusive way .. or run a 'pay no add service' ...  But as one said before .... If you can not stand the heat .. get out of the kitchen ...  ???? .. a few more jumps ...  Time to don a mask and go for a cycle ride ...

I have  installed that "Something". 

No ads, no pop-ups so far. 

Not sure I am allowed to divulge the name here.

For me I dont care  a bit about the ads.. But for me I do really hate to get like 60-70 emails from thaivisa promoting stuff & materials... I understand that it is NOT ThaiVISA itself, but members that are doing this <deleted> with KETO and all other idiot TV-shows......

 

Can we get a stop to all these emails you think, or do we hav to stop going into ThaiVisa all together????

Great thank you, to do what really? Stop receiving mail from ThaiVISA and lose all these mails I actually want to have...... I wish to get rid off the damn <deleted>mails from fony members thaat are promoting KETO and different TV-shows preferably in sports...... They comes daily in numbers of totaly 60-70. I hte the <deleted>, I am afraid if you do not do anything about it, much people maybe will stop coming to this great site..

Emails or PM ???

 

If they are pm,s you should report them using the report function on the pm so we can deal with the sender as spamming in that manner is against forum rules.

 

If they are email versions of the pm, you can turn that off via the settings on your account.

At last, I think you hit the nail there. Maybe THAT is the way to go, JUST KILL ALL THE NOTIFICATIONS AND LOG IN LOG IN LOG IN LOG IN LOG IN LOG IN during the day, and see if any interesting threads and answers had occurred since last.....

 

I dont know, losing the notifications all together is not that good either, but maybe I have to do that to fix this problem, like you mention....

I get notifications but not via emails. I think you should spend some time reading your settings, there are loads of things to want or block. If I can do it, anyone can.....

I get emails if someone has reacted to my posts or replied to my posts but that is all and I can alter that to my wishes, none of the unwanted stuff you seem to be getting, have a look in settings then notification settings.

Thank you so much guys..... I have checked my notification settings, maybe this one in the setting is the big <deleted>; "Send me news and information" I unchecked that one and hope that I do NOT have to see on a daily basis emails like this from ThaiVisa:

Brave solved it for me, it's a new browser with built in adblocker.  So I only use Brave now on TV.

Been using it for a year or so and I agree it's great!   The only thing is the search line doesn't have auto fill when you start typing in a search term you have used before.   I just had Windows reinstalled recently but the first version had over a million Ads blocked!

the endless scrolling, page jumping and moving up and down.  It really is bad.  Now if support thinks we users can solve the problems, well, maybe they should watch Bar Rescue.  If we turn away from the site, less people will use the less, less traffic for the adverts, etc.  Snow ball effect
