More like my embarrassment as an American. Hate? Not me. I oppose his own words, his own policies and his own actions. Well documented by history. He was elected as a person out of his depth under the false hope that he would change the status quo and address the justified frustration/anger within the working middle class. Anyone knowing his personal history would have seen that was a false hope (what choice did they have? More of the same). He has proven he is a man far out of his depth. His administration will be recorded as an aberration built on false hope. Hate is a blind emotion. There are concrete reasons for opposing The Donald.

Right. Declared pandemic by the WHO in june 2009 only (that's the WHO which decides if there is a pandemic). Obama started acting in anticipation 3 months before in April by declaring a public health emergency and releasing funds to fight the swine flu. That's the facts.

I don't know how old you are or what kind of healthcare you had access to, but being a GenX'er, I saw healthcare decline drastically in my lifetime. 

 

Back when I was young, I was on my father's healthcare plan.  I never remember any worries about seeing a doctor or costs or anything.  Everything was always taken care of.  Of course, he was a Boomer and worked for the same company his whole life.  They're one of the largest companies in the world with great pension plans, unions, and benefits. 

 

Even for a few years when I got a job and was working, healthcare seemed so simple.  $10 or $25 co-pay, everything covered. 

 

But in the last 10 or 15 years, it's just been a disaster.  Go in for an endoscopy, a covered procedure, and end up getting $3,000+ in bills from the doctor that insurance wouldn't cover. 

 

I went in to a lab to get some blood work done that my doctor ordered and the woman pulling the blood asked me if I had insurance.  I said I did and she said, "Oh good.  If you didn't, this would cost you about $2,000." 

 

Even dental has turned into a money grubbing, used car salesman-like profession.  Every year in November, my dentist's office would call me to tell me how much of my insurance I hadn't spent this year and wanted to schedule an appointment so they could figure out a way to max out my insurance claims. 

 

Every visit they were selling some new BS that wasn't covered by insurance.  Once it was invisilign, then it was some sort of coating to put on your teeth, then it was veneers, etc, etc. 

 

It was disgusting because the dentist's office was completely open with just small walls separating each patient so you could hear the dentist going from room to room pitching the same BS stuff and using the same lines, "Well, if you don't get the invisilign, you get dental decay from food caught in your crooked teeth and that could lead to heart disease."  <deleted>?!?! 

 

I'm sorry but if I can move to Thailand and get my blood work done for $100 and it costs $2,000 in the US, there's something seriously wrong with the healthcare system. 

 

It's not mooches looking for a handout, man.  It's the system.  It's gotten horrific to deal with. 

 

The saddest stories aren't even from the people without insurance.  It's the people who get whacked with bills even though they have insurance. 

 

Like a story I was reading recently (sorry, I forget the source) where someone was ill and had to be taken to the hospital.  So instead of taking an ambulance and ending up at an out of network hospital they took themselves to an in-network hospital to save money.  But one of the treating doctors was not in-network so they got slammed with a bunch of bills to cover the doctor's costs.

This might be good for long term investors, but for people retiring this year it is a disaster.

VP Pence was just on Fox News and he said this:  The main reason for the European Continent Travel ban is the fact that Italy went from 500 cases to over 10,000 in less than a week.  Wow!

 

Also, since the EU is pretty much without borders I kind of understand the reason for this.  Many will disagree with it.  Like him or  hate him(know many on TVF do) at least he made dramatic or in some minds a drastic decision.  

We will see what the consequences will be.  It appears Wall Street was not impressed.  My portfolio is hurting.

Supposedly, the U.S. insurance industry told Trump the other day that they would waive co-pays/deductibles at least for CV testing for Americans with health insurance. But I haven't heard peepers about what's supposed to happen for the many Americans who, thanks to Trump, DON'T have any health insurance whatsoever.

But just the other day after absolutely confirming he spent hours and hours on Airforce One with a carrier the President (the leader of the most powerful nation on the planet) saw no need to be tested for the virus .... cause he said he felt okay!?!? This is not a nice virus for those who are old and have health problems, ie it will possibly/likely kill them.

Just reading through most of the posts it seems that that many have no feelings for that section of those affected. It seems to be a platform for 'let's win political points and try to show how clever I am on what should be done' or I see it as a good way to invest in whatever and I'll be richer than you at the end.

This virus might mutate and change the age bracket it affects most.

Just imagine if it 'decides' and viruse do, to start killing people regardless of age or weath or how big your investments are.

Who cares what a president did 8 years ago, right or wrong, this is now.
