LONDON (Reuters) - Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has tested positive for the coronavirus, the Premier League club said on Thursday, with the first-team squad set to self-isolate as a result.

The club's Hale End training centre has been temporarily closed.

"Arsenal personnel who had recent close contact with Mikel will now self-isolate in line with Government health guidelines. We expect this to be a significant number of people from Colney, including the full first-team squad and coaching staff," Arsenal said in a statement.

I'd guess its only a matter of time before the EPL gets shut down. You gotta do what you gotta do.

The FA having an emergency meeting Friday morning

Looks like it is only Premiership players and coaches who are catching the virus and causing postponements; the oh so important, precious little darlings.

In big picture, my question is meaningless, but still want to know: will Liverpool be named champion if season is stopped? Will it always have an "*" after title indicating shortened season?

Chelsea's Tammy Abraham has gone down with it also .. P L have an urgently arranged meeting today and its hard to see anything other than postponement of fixtures at the very least ..

In short, we don't know yet. As Justgrazing says above, PL have an emergency meeting today:-
