Noticed a whole lot of cones in & around Kathu/Patong this morning and a lot of plod. I assume someone is coming to the island, any ideas?

random road checks to limit travel and traffic?  query those pesky foreigners that pulled up and moved to Thailand to spend their retirement monies?

they stopped (as far as I can see) zero vehicles

i always just ride in the far right lane....just go straight past them they seem to only pull over people in the left lane lol.
