Keir Stamer elected leader of UK Labour party

and Angela Rayner elected as deputy leader.

 

The full results of the leadership contest were:

  • Sir Keir Starmer - 275,780 votes (56.2%).
  • Rebecca Long-Bailey - 135,218 votes (27.6%)
  • Lisa Nandy - 79,597 votes (16.2%)

And so endeth the Corbyn experiment .. that went well didn't it .. K S was nailed on for the position and is probably the one who can reconstitute Labour to provide a worthy opposition to the present Gov' .. Though Lisa Nandy presented herself well and could prove to be a future leader as youth is on her side ..

 Yeah he was always the front runner in the contest to succeed scruffy Corbyn, he always had the most support among MPs, MEPs & trade unions etc. Fingers crossed he finds a prominent position for the Paddington Bear namely Dianne Abbott now that she has relinquished her post a Shadow Home Secretary.....BTW Thai Visa check your spelling of our new Labour party leaders surname

Starmer was the genius behind losing all the northern voters with his constant 'another referendum' stratagy, it will take more than Starmer to win those voters back.

On the plus side he is not Corbyn.
