So, like as shown in the video dashes are a no-go in the bank acct info when using the Get My Payment site.

What error did you get for rejection when you did "not" use dashes?  I thought the errors you were getting before were due to your AGI/refund amount entry with no mention of bad bank acct info.

While the IRS system could immediately confirm whether the routing number is a valid number by bumping it against a bank routing number public database (not saying they are doing that but they easily could), the IRS system can not immediately confirm the acct number is correct/valid other than check the acct number for min-max length and whether its all numbers. Any set of acct numbers would pass as long as the min-max and all numbers criteria were met.  The IRS would only find out the acct number is bad once the direct deposit got rejected back to them.

the error when no dashes in bnk acct  is your info does not match our records.--then goes on to say try data for 2018 return

Just to be sure I understand, it gave two reasons for rejection this time....(1) bad bank acct info due to use of dashes, and (2) incorrect AGI, whereas before it only gave one reason for rejection which was incorrect AGI?

No.. just one reason ..error on bank acct number  then says just use numerals-

 it never says incorrect agi--just "does not match our records"  try 2018 return which could be agi or refund

But before you said below....you said it wasn't accepting your AGI/refund entries.

Trying to enter bank info for stimulus direct deposit---the form sucks and wont accept the numbers i enter for adjusted gross income or refund amount--not sure which of those is wrong--for refund I dont qualify for any refund but just entered 1200 and also tried 0--neither worked.  for adjusted gross income I tried  the 2019 amount and it said my return might not have been processed so try 2018 amount.  my 2018 amount is  negative 3000--it did not accept that either--anyone know how this should work?

It wasn't and it isn't.  It says--your entries does not match our records--id say that is not accepting.   Im not sure what other records it could be referring to other than agi/refund

Regarding entries on the Get My Payment tool regarding AGI and amount owed/refunded, I will just repost below IRS guidance.  If you are absolutely sure you are indeed entering the correct AGI and Owed/Refund amount and still get an error that the entries do not match IRS records, then I guess it time to call the IRS to see if they can help.  And just be sure not to intermix 2019 and 2018 data.

2018 and 2019 i had no refund and nothing owed so the only number to change is the agi.  Ive tried both with neg or no neg etc...  maybe time to call

BTW thx for your time in trying to help me on this

Since you said earlier for your 2018 return you had a negative AGI of $3000 then a -3000 entry (be sure to include the minus sigh) in that field and then a 0 entry in the Owed/Refund field.

But first try entry of your 2019 AGI and owed/refund data...but I think before you did try that and it recommend you now try entry of your 2018 data.  Just be sure to not intermix 2019 and 2018 data like entering a 2018 AGI and a 2019 refund/owed or vice versa.

And be triple sure you are entering the correct AGI/owed/refund amounts because I've seen several posts in the reddit blog where people were getting rejects because they were simply entering incorrect AGI amounts...they took the wrong number off their return thinking it was the AGI amount.   They later came back in a follow-up post saying they had got confused on the AGI amount...was simply using the wrong amount off their tax form....was looking at the wrong block on the tax form....but figured it out and once entering the correct AGI the Get My Payment tool accepted their input.   Not saying you are entering the wrong AGI or owed/refund amounts...just saying be sure of the amounts...review your tax forms one more time.  Depending on which tax form you used that earlier video tells which block to look at on your tax form to get the AGI.

And of course your bank routing and acct numbers "without" dashes.

If all of that don't work it's time to call the IRS to see if they can help.   Boy, I now it's frustrating.  Best of luck.

Refund # is 0 for 2018 and 2019--so only number to change is AGI

BUT  I have just remembered and realized that my 2018 was submitted to me by tax preparer but they had forgotten some rental income--I had them change that but they never sent me the revised return--So the return I had was incorrect.  I checked their website and found my revised return with a different neg AGI---That I will try tomorrow when unlocked.  To say I am optimistic is an understatement---IT HAS TO WORK   555555

One more thing.  Since you have neither owed money or got a refund...maybe filing a return although you don't have to, I wonder if in those filings that the IRS found a minor error(s) that changed the AGI amount, corrected the error(s), but since it didn't change anything in terms of you owing money or getting a refund you would probably not get notified by the IRS.  But in their records they now reflect a different AGI amount like say for 2018 it was a minus 3010 vs a minus 3000.

Edit: whoops, we are passing in the night....I posted above seconds after you posted that maybe your AGI is incorrect/a different amount.

That should do the trick....if it does it will just be another case of using the wrong AGI.  Good luck.

Yes--another forum had one guy who got his tax transcript it was different by 1$ from his records--it worked after that....But for me as my last post indicates mine was wrong all along

Has anyone not having received a check or DD filed a form 3911 with any sort of success?

Am thinking about faxing one in instead of phoning.

Q52 from: https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/economic-impact-payment-information-center#issuedbutlost

Submit a completed Form 3911, Taxpayer Statement Regarding Refund (PDF).
If you submit the form and you are Married Filing Jointly, both spouses must sign the form;
Write “EIP” on the top of the form and complete Sections I, II and III;
Answer the refund questions as they relate to your EIP;
When completing Number 7 under Section I, check the box for “Individual” as the Type of return; enter “2020” as the tax period and leave the date filed blank;

no I didn't put any bank info on form 3099.   Since the "refund" was not a direct deposit I left all the banking info fields blank

Just FYI, I called the IRS on a Monday night at 7pm our time and my wait was only 4 minutes! Yes, you read right, 1,2,3, 4 minutes.

Maybe the nightmare of calling is over. Also, the get my payment site as of now is undergoing maintenance.

The last time they did that, I was no longer able to log in with my address and get the get my payment page to open. Fingers crossed.

Did they say how long the site would be under maintenance?  Asking cause I finally got my accurate agi number and want to see if it works?

I'm pretty sure the maintenance is to install a software patch to block people who have tried entering their AGI more than 100 times.  :w00t::tongue:   Just kidding.....hope your next AGI entry this evening works.

It worked!!!   Used the new AGI with negative sign and it worked--did not give a date but said the money will be sent to my account.  Just in time for stimulus 2 to get through and potentially more after that.  I will check the site everyday to see if they give a payment date.

Thanks everyone for your feedback to this issue.  Really I can blame my tax preparer for not sending me the revised return of 2018--at the time I didn't really pay attention as it didn't change what I owed.  Lets see how long it takes to get the cash--Ill post an update when money received.. Thanks again

Congrats....really glad it worked out.   In a few days I expect the status will update to an inbound direct deposit.

But for failing to know your actual AGI and causing around a hundred unnecessary posts, googling, research, head scratching, cuzzing, etc., you must be punished.

Here's your punishment: Write on a whiteboard 1000 times "I will always know and confirm my AGI."

On second thought, forget about additional punishment as you punished yourself enough in trying to figure out the problem....will probably take a week for your blood pressure to return to normal.

I think anyone waiting for over 9 weeks for their check should just go ahead and file the 3911 missing payment form.  and get an account at bangkok bank. BTW I havn't lost any sleep over this.  there's a stimulus group on FB and the problems I faced were nothing compared with what some of those people are going through.

I believe I already posted this, but I got my check in the mail.  I actually got the letter first saying I got a payment, and then a week later the actual check came.  It was scheduled to mail on May 15, and came around the week of July 20.  Hope everybody who is waiting for a check gets theirs.  This is proof that checks do indeed get delivered and its not all a myth!

First off, so glad you finally got everything to work.

The only thing that got resolved was to start the 6 week process for a lost check however, about 3 days later, the get my payment site allowed me to put in my DD details, so I hope the payment will be done by DD instead of having another check sent. I don't think they will make the deposit until after the 6 weeks has passed. I called on July 6th, entered my bank details on July 10th and still waiting.

Good points

when I logon i get this now

You are eligible for the payment. Once we have your payment date, we will update this page.

We will deposit your payment to the bank account below.

Bank Account Number: ************xxxx

Updates to your payment are made no more than once a day. We will mail you a letter with additional information on this payment.

Seems that means I will get via bank deposit but as you say might have to wait the 6 weeks lost check process.  Also wondering what to do if my check arrives tomorrow

If the payment was rejected back to the IRS (i.e,. rejected DD or snail mail check returned) and they can see in their system it was sent back....they have it in-hand....then the IRS does not have to go thru the lost payments process/waiting period because they know the payment was rejected/paper check never cashed.

The MIA payment you faxed-in earlier probably triggered an IRS specialist looking into their system and they "may" have seen the payment was rejected/returned to them, no need for a lost payment review period, get the person's bank acct info, and then do a direct deposit.   The MIA payment paperwork you faxed in may have just triggered some "personal, immediate" attention to your missing payment vs waiting for the IRS computer system to just get around to you again.
