Roadblock Watch

Can we get reports of how they are panning out please?

Is there much of a queue & is there any hassle?

Came in from Soi Chaiyapruek 2 this morning around 8 AM. Only southbound turn was allowed. Rode down about 4 km, made a U-turn, passed the south checkpoint before Tiger Park but it was unmanned. Heard similar reports from officemates -- everything is set up but unmanned. In further good news, a certain Family Mart sold me a bottle of Jack from under the counter this afternoon.

We had to go to Naklua about 10 am there was a checkpoint on Sukhumvit ,but nobody there ,we only live a short distance from it ,had all my paperwork ,not needed yet.

Yeah, 2 pm (14:00) today (Thursday) was when it was supposed to go into effect "for real".

Up until curfew at 10 pm, then open again tomorrow morning at 06:00.

On another pattaya news site 4pm was the stated start time.

So many versions of the same story so no wonder there is confusion

I was heading from East Pattaya to Big C South at about 10.30am. Came out on Suk Road opposite Makro and headed South to Checkpoint 7 to do a U-Turn at the Chaiyapruek lights.

Queued in Lane 4, only about 3/4 vehicles in front of me, just showed an A4 size copy of my Thai DL to an army guy and was quickly waved on. Hardly looked at the copy, The lights were at green so straight through to the U-turn heading back north.

Most of the (light) traffic heading south were in the  near lane so no checks for them. The other lanes were pretty empty. All rather painless.

Easy run to Big C as was the return to East Pattaya - via a U-turn at the Klang junction and finally a turnoff at Khao Noi. No further checks, as expected.

No obvious sign of any paperwork being closely examined/stamped/retained. But this is just a sample of one journey.

Going through the motions comes to mind.......

I just passed Pattaya Klang driving on 3rd Rd and no sign of any roadblock when looking up towards Suk Rd. AFAIK there should have been one just passed Big C.

No, one draft of the plan showed it at the Big C junction but it was subsequently moved to the southbound lane of Sukhumvit, just north of the Klang junction.

Of course you wouldn't see as they are all on East side of Sukhumvit. All checkpoints are working.

According to treetops there is at least one checkpoint on Suk as well.

They are all on Sukhumvit, but on the eastside lanes.

Refresher:

--Sukhumvit eastside lanes go North to South.

--Sukhumvit westside lanes go South to North.

To confirm Checkpoint locations.

All on Suk - as noted by couchpotato.

Yes saw that when I was there yesterday. As it's the first checkpoint coming from Sattahip, Bang Saray etc, then all traffic coming from the South must go thru it--no choice.

Checkpoint #1 will also be the same, as it is the first checkpoint all the Laem Chabang/Siracha traffic hit.--also no choice (although darksiders have the choice to head up 36).

Perfect example of why this lockdown doesn't make sense and has no purpose or benefits as well.

During the weekend Bangkok people will also have no problem entering the city

Well (just now) at 15.30  it was all clear  obviously  not a rush hour at that time.

Does anyone know whether delivery services like Kerry and Lazada coming  from outside the exclusion zone are being allowed in as per normal. I need a new laptop and don't fancy waiting at least until the end of the month to buy it.

3xs now navigated through,no problems,nothing to show,just temp check

What amazes me is the humongous canopies they were able to put up in days.....The cost of the canopies had to have been huge....A massive effort for the most just to take someones temperature? and maybe a bit of paper work...

There has to be more to this limp noodle lockdown roadshow......

I hope they keep them past this mess.... Gets very hot sitting there awaiting the light change ????

No problems for delivery drivers.

Thanks John

Went up to the hardware store this morning and checkpoint 8 was starting to back up a fair way.

I would imagine that there  would be very light traffic at this time of day.
