Maybe some tough love is needed. Learn how to queue properly or starve to death. Up to you.

Maybe you will be in the queue soon, hope you know how to queue properly 555

The organisers had not told the authorities about the event either

The problem stems from here! If they had been informed they would have been prepared!

Best thing would be to give a number out, through media, and then get the food deliver to them.

City Hall did not want to have  their  own food distribution thing upstaged, which is due to start on 20th in colabaraion with Sawang Bariboon Foundation.

Face saving again

House to house (or village to village) deliveries by tessaban staff - or the army - seems the smart way to go.

Far to easy so there must be a reason

Best way would be to distribute from a truck. As soon as crowding takes over, drive on and stop further down. Repeat.

The Thai Army needs to be mobilized, across the country, to deal with this issue.  If not, how long before rioting and looting starts?

They must be good for something, right?

How many Generals, army and police and they couldn't set up a food chain to feed their own people ?   Tells you everything doesn't it......... Army sat all over the country doing sweet fanny adams and a PM an X General who should know how to sort out a small logistics problem....    Something about the inability to organize a drink in a brewery jumps to mind.....   Trucks, catering corps, food, lines, distance, one at a time........ what's hard about that ?

Everything... they haven't a clue.

That would really fit into the "Walking Dead" scenario.

i was driving past.  The queue was long but moving quick. it was sad.  they must free up the restrictions soon. allow shops to open, keep bars closed if need be

40 years of mass tourism and they can't even put a few quid to one side for some rice??

Beggars belief.

sounds like they have  the rice and want to give out the rice but unfortunately their ability to organise distribution has resulted in the initiative failing. back to the drawing board and try again. it can't be that difficult can it?!

why can't a few police actually police and keep everyone at the recommended distances? Disgraceful!

And then they make pictures of the police who don't wear their mouthmasks properly or forget the social distancing themselves and you guys will all ridicule them....?

Without any tourists there still won't be enough jobs to do.

True, and even if every country went back to normal tomorrow, it would still probably take several months for things to even approach normality.

Hoping the Thais can get the food distribution organised, obviously a looming potential source of problems if it ain't.

Probably given to a dozen monks

It will only end up at a temple if there is any left after the city hall staff have finished with it

and they were losing business before due to the nutty insurance policy requirements, tedious 90 day reporting requirements, then the monthly income method monthly transfer method changes for UK and USA folks, etc.  You keep piling on straws they were bending the camel's back before this virus decision,

Eeeh??? I am pretty sure that you meant to quote somebody else, right? What has 90 day reporting and immigration to do with starwing Thais in a food line????
