The emergency decree has been extended to May 31st. Am I able to travel by air from Bangkok to Udon Thani then private car to the wife's home in Nong bua lamphu, 45km from Udon Thani, between now and the end of May?

As far as I know you are ok to travel, there are limited flights to Udon Thani, Vietjet & Nok I think. 

Ubonjoe may confirm this further.

    The flight should be no problem. I'm more concerned about the road trip from Udon Thani to Nong Bua lamphu, albeit a short journey.

    A friend drives from Udon to Nong BuaLamphu frequently - he never had a problem.

    You should nt have any problems at all driving from UT to NBL on the 216, my missus' family done the trip on Friday. Have police/army road checks just for temperature and to ask where you're  going, don't ask for any docs. Then waved on.
