But of course the girls are liable to exaggerate the allowance because they're trying to pressure you to pay a large allowance.

I take it you don't spend any time around the generation of Thais that perhaps went to an international school, studied abroad, work in a English orientated company? 

 

I guess my wife didn't learn her English in a bilingual school here and then when she went to university in England, it was whilst she was secretly working the bars of Bangkok or Pattaya before I met her ????. 

I did manage to crash over at her studio apartment as I was curious to see how she lived with her cousin. Was an absolute $hi!.t.ehole with clothes packed up in boxes, no more than 30 sqm.

 

All this costed me in the end was a few cab rides, two bottles of NZ red wine. 

 

I am speaking to others of course who seem a lot more mentally stable but they all start out like that don't they?

I've read through this thread with great interest - don't really understand how a girl can get 100k/month and share a 15k/month apartment with their cousin AND be 300k+ in debt? Something doesn't add up. 
My view is that
1) debt is very common - 300K+ is certainly excessive by she probably got there by taking out multiple credit cards. Say 4-5 cards, each with a 50k limit. Then she's not making repayments and paying 30% interest - soon adds up. 
2) yes - all Thai girls are great at this.

Said she broke it off with the american ex about a year ago. Seems like she's racked up a debt in a hurry and perhaps as you've described via multiple credit cards.

 

Sharing the room with her cousin and jointly paying for that and with some of the cash she's saved from the ex and possibly other farangs donating her money. The studio is a few hundred metres from the BTS but it's tiny, poorly built, in a large complex with other condos.

 

Either way she's in deep poo and hoping to hook another farang. No doubt she's moved on fast after I refused to bail her out. I did offer to send her a bottle of wine for her participation.

 

Certainly knew her way around the bedroom and wasn't one of they shy types. Soundproofed AirBnB.

No loss to me. She gave her body up pretty easily and didn't get one baht out of me. 

 

 When the penny dropped that I wouldn't be bailing her out of her supposed debt, she proceeded to go bat sh1.t crazy on the phone saying that I was a bad man who didn't care about her situation, was like all the other farangs that think she is going to steal my money, was heartless, etc. Profanities weren't use but the theatrics were thick and heavy. I did make it clear to her I wasn't in a relationship with her and I simply don't give money to honeys.

Don't tell them they'll get no money. Instead say you're a retired NBA player and looking to invest in Thai condos because your wife died but you want to live long term in Paris. Possibly alone because sex is not important to you, unless you find a good wife to share your happiness with. Then offer to make coffee at your place.

Getting back to your questions:

1. To get 325K debt: several credit cards, private money lenders, defaults on loans where she is a co-signer or guarantor, could be an education loan from the government.

2. Many Thai ladies are excellent actors. I have heard that they even bang their head against a wall, to get bruises, then tell the cops you beat them.

 

Never heard of any foreigner giving a Thai woman a 100k baht a month stipend or even half that amount. Most women exaggerate about their monthly stipend to feel superior or more prized amongst their friends. If I get more money per month than you, then I am a better woman than you, is their thinking.

 

She is a gold digger. Lots of better women in Thailand than her.  She has to learn her lesson, not to borrow money for useless things that have no recoverable value. She has chosen to learn the hard way, by going bankrupt.

 

You deserve better, plenty of fish in the sea. Look for a new one.
