The nanny state is gone...

...welcome to the warden state...and we are the inmates.

Our crime?

We are all mules! Not because we carry drugs, no, no, because we carry something far more dangerous, we carry a virus!

This pandemic has forced the hands of governments worldwide into showing their true face...and it looks much more like the one of Chairman Mao, than the one of Lady Liberty.

You can count on them to milk this microscopic strand of DNA to the last drop, and beyond.

Meanwhile, many former citizens appear to welcome their new life as inmates, even asking for more because, obviously it is for their own good, as tyranny always is.

Inmates lose their adult status and regress all the way back to being children in primary school, except that the teacher, replaced by a warden, is far less tolerant.

If some of them don't follow the rules, the whole group is punished, as a lesson.

But if the group behaves, then it might be released, on probation, with the ever present threat of more incarceration if some become mules again.

Once free, the inmates discover that the world has changed a lot, and that they are not welcome in it...very hard times await them.

But don't worry, this won't last...at least...not forever...

The nanny state is gone? I suggest you check out Australia, where a conservative government has just brought in welfare beyond the wildest dreams of any socialist. O the irony, Bob Menzies must be rolling in his grave.

Yes & well needed as the systems implemented don't cater for many laid off workers

Then you have other countries opening up & the best Auss can do is make a deal with the Kiwis

Yep.I have a few Kiwi mates, don,t trust one of them. What makes it strange is that Scomo was boss of NZ tourism before he was same in Oz! Got sacked from that ,now he,s PM...

Interesting analogy!  Seems to me the world's elites keep saying what a good thing the loss of life is for the future of the world.  Less people...less use if natural resources...

Has this virus been a calculated experiment?

If it was it's been a failure. I  don't know what the % of 7 1/2 billion the death rate is, but it's pretty small. Perhaps it's a test run to see how sheeple we are.

Nice one. Just don't buy this big plan by governments as an excuse to keep us muled in though. China, for sure, but that's David Ike-esque tripe right there. Any long term draconian measures affects them too. I've no love for politicians and elites - they're generally a bunch of stuck up waankers - but see it for what it is; a t.wat of a mutated virus due to human meddling with potential to totally flaw economies. Governments (at least western ones) seen to leverage and take the mick will lead to rioting on a massive scale. And nowt good will come of that... the elites would be lording over nothing.

More likely it is a way of resetting the economy, while blaming the collapse, which was coming anyway, on the virus.

Governments, notably in the West and its affiliates, will implement drastic measures, probably increase taxes and reduce social coverage, in the name of reconstruction.

While the pandemic will probably last 6 to 9 months, its economic and social fallout will last 6 to 9 years...or more...

Nanny State.?. I came across Police Interceptors an other similar vids on You Tube. It is disgusting how the English Yobs behave towards your Officers. After watching a few my conclusion was the South African Police are right. Wait, ask for order, if not forthcoming wade in and give em pain. Was rather sad to see such disrespect.

The worst countries affected are expected to lose 0.1% of their population.

(Although some scare-mongers have suggested death rates as high as 0.15%)

Just reading the unabridged version of Stephen King's, "The Stand" where the 'Captain Tripps' flu killed 99.4% of the world population.

Majority members of herd in social animal are happy by being led.

For millenniums religion took this role leading the the mass.

Now global warming, virus, etc. are in charge of herding the mass.

Where it leads to doesn't matter as long as the flocks are rushing together back and forth.

Where is our lord, Greta now?

Few weeks ago i was thinking the same, by now it should be obvious that the test has proven successful.

The pigs in America are 50x worse, especially if you are a concealed carry permit holder.  Every time I've informed them of my firearm during a traffic stop they immediately go apes*it about it

This is not their regular procedure, which is "shoot first, ask questions later".

Bruno's posts are never worth the time.

Perhaps if you didn't look like an Armed Knuckle Drager youd get respect from all US Officers.

Some people think waaay too much. Should get out more...

Expect higher taxes and a "living wage" that is only enough to survive on for the unemployed masses. At the moment pensions are higher than the dole, but would not surprise me if they were reduced. I should be looking for a suitable bridge to shelter under.

Perhaps the general populace may start to agree that the population is too high to support jobs for all.

If anything good comes out of it for NZ it may be that immigration is slashed to virtual zero. They just took jobs that should have been done by locals and increased house prices. The most surprising thing to me is that house prices have not yet collapsed, but that may ( hopefully ) be coming.

Sadly you are correct. Apparently 30% want to continue imprisonment. I'm guessing they are those with guaranteed income, and politicians.

Ever been to South africa?

Always interesting to spot the posters that believe-for reasons that remain totally unclear-that they are not part of the herd and therefore not "sheeple" presumably due to their special knowledge and lifestyle which consists of roaming the hills, catching and cooking rabbits and chomping down on lizards and things...

Oh wait....they are at home watching YouTube videos and reserving their libertarian heroics for posting on forums whilst abiding by the rules laid down by their respective national gov'ts.
