Does anyone know if Maxxis or any other Motorcycle shops Carry Michelin Pilot road 5 tires? These are real rare beasts to find especially locally. I found in Chiang Mai so far but would rather buy in Pattaya since I live 23 kilos from there. Thanks I would post in Motorcycles but I am sure I will get mainly Bangkok responses.

Thanks Kerry

I checked with them last night they carry the 120's but not the 160's for the rear The Michelin factory in Thailand says they make them but the Lazada shop said Italy only on the 160 60 17ZR 17's That will suck if I have to ride to either Cambodia or Indonesia to pick them up. Only Thailand has that <deleted> rule you can't order foreign tires. Thanks for the try. Just tired of having tires that die at 5000 kilos. I may have to go with Continentals they last a long time. To save 2000-3000 baht on a set of Pirelli's & have them get squirley at 5000 kilos is a shame. My Ole lady has a fit when the back starts sliding out.It is fine going fast & straight but sand or loose rocks it stumbles over.

Probably has more to do with the quality of the road surfaces (and the <deleted> on them) than the tires themselves ?
(Maybe.) I always figured riding on hot asphalt would wear a tire down faster than on smooth concrete (but I feel better on the asphalt).

I'm sure that if they can be had in Chiang Mai it wouldn't be hard to have them shipped to Pattaya via Kerry Express ?

Also, looking at Michelin's website, they show a dealer in Pattaya (Benelli) on Sukhumvit and another place that is supposed to be on South Pattaya road but when I look at the map it shows restaurants and karaoke bars.
And on Google, the "Benelli" dealer is a Mityon Honda dealership. (West side of the Suk, a couple sois south of soi Boonsamphan.)

If anyone is looking for this tire it is at IMOTO tires 1 block down from Maxxis tire in Pattaya. I have used this same shop since 2007 & was delighted after calling 3 places in Bangkok including the factory to find out they had in stock. And they gave me a 600 baht price less than the distributor of Road 5 tires.

Thanks again for the ideas!????

The shop is pretty damn good. They always let me clean my rims & gears up. Last time they did it for me for free. I tipped for the service of course!

Do they have a good selection of tyres in stock ? My tires on the Harley are fairly new but I wouldn't mind getting a new set of whitewalls again in the near future.

They have Pirelli Dunlop Michelin & a couple other brands you can call them  0819457424 or 0954078059? I just got the Michelin's & they kick ass, slightly more road noise due to the aggressive rain pattern channeling but I will get used to it quick. Instead of 5000 kilo tires these are touted to be in the 12,000-15,000 kilo range. Very Happy with them. & by the way I misposted my Yamalube 80 did 80 MPH flat out 120 kilos approx. Not 120 MPH. That frame would have laid me out past 80MPH I don't think it could hang .  I laughed when I read the post that I said twice it did 120MPH.
