Popular Post cornishcarlos
Has this pandemic, and everything associated with it, taught you any valuable lessons ? I'm sure there are many obvious ones and some not so obvious.. What have you learnt ? For me, I will be ensuring that we have our own independent water source (bore hole, rain water catchment) at our properties. I never want to be held to ransom, for water, by any government in the future. Might not seem important to some but I think it will be at some point. 10

Popular Post kokesaat
I learned that having a plan B in life, no matter where you live, is a good thing. Having lived in Thailand for 23 years, but now marooned in the US because we can't get return flights, we were always ready for something like a coup or other government intervention that might put a dent in our plans to float our ashes down the Mekong. We never imagined the pandemic might be the possible end to our life there. We bought land and built a house sensibly.....didn't overly invest. I always told my wife that if need be, we could pack a few suitcases and leave everything behind to be covered over by jungle. I've seen too many expats who sell the farm then invest most everything they have in Thailand.....only to eventually want to leave, but can't because they don't have the funds to do so. Plan B.

Popular Post Tarteso
What have you learnt ?? I have learned that the future is no longer so clear, that the economies of the countries are no longer secure and that the shadow of poverty is advancing fast and not only in developing countries.. look at the crisis in AMERICA OR EUROPE because of a Virus. I thought I was a lucky guy who has chosen to live a calm and happy life here in Thailand but I am saddened to see people and families around me without job or saved money. I See future of poverty, hunger and angry people. I don't know what will become of the future of next generations ... Nothing is clear anymore. If not in this Pandemic, it will be in the next. Popular Post OneMoreFarang
I learned that some people can easily adapt and others don't want to change and complain (even more than usual). Do I like the (limited) lockdown and closure of many places? No. Can I live with it? Yes. I can't change it so there is no point in complaining about it. Normally I eat out a lot. Now I eat almost always at home. Different, but no problem. And in the last weeks I played a computer game for many hours. I didn't do that for a long time. It's a different kind of entertainment and it's fun. There are so many things people can do if they don't concentrate on the few things which they can't do.

2 is 1
Western world have things to learn from Thailand also. Almost all food in western world is very effectivity produce. In Thailand every people who have even own balcany crow something themself. Dirty farangs go in market and buy junk food and get fat! Then they have high cholesterol, heard disease etc. They not even give they kids healty food, they give them same junk what they eat themself. Ok even here have many problems , mostly coz people eat too much sugar here. All is much more sweet than like in europe. The mask only slides into your eyes when you enter a 7/11? What special conditions pertain to a 7/11 which cause the mask to slide? Does the sight of all those kaow pat moo meals cause your nostrils to dilate?

simon43
6. sugar is dangerous Your body needs sugar to survive. It is the quantity of sugar that is dangerous. You should not eat processed foods with added sugar, don't add extra sugar to your food and only obtain your sugar intake from fructose (fruit sugar),.
