do we really want more though?!

I think this is actually a root cause of many unhappy souls! We have too much!

Hands up who among you has left a lot if not everything behind and packed up and found happiness elsewhere.

At least one hand waving.

Quote Sheryl Crow

"I don't have digital

I don't have diddly squat

It's not having what you want

It's wanting what you've got"

As for the UK, can't be beat on its day.

Except for cricket, rugby, etc :o

CB

Being back in the Uk since recently all I see is people with everything and more, and yes, indeed supposedly "wanting" more.

But I think this is misguided. A lack of fulfillment, spiritual or otherwise, creates a hole that needs to be filled.

Some people can do so productively, in any society.

Unfortunately that is not the norm.

PS> I could, and probably should elaborate more... I just can't be bothered. This issue actually upsets me a bit. My computer is not as nice to type on as the one I saw in the shop the other day, and the background music is only 2 channel stereo, not 12/directional surround, so I don't feel comfortable...

kayo me old china,

what you say is totally correct about people wanting more and more and more out of there life. :D

its a trap, and in the end it destroy's many of them chasing the big dollars and the mighty life style.

something has to give and its usually the family. :bah:

wife runs off with the milk man or something like that, because the cats working all bleeding day and night.

ive been to many countries in my life, seen many different situations where people have nothing and people have every thing.

theres only one way to go, and that is the middle path, not to high and not to low. :bah:

im financial enough to stay in 5 star hotels when i travel but i never do this as one never meets " real " people in these places and its all about arse kissing. :D and look at me, im so rich and important. :D

i always stay in backpackers and associate with like minded people, eating at markets , living the street life and associating with working class thais.

these are the farang and thais i find the most interesting and choose to be with.

the people who live the high life dont interest me at all, never have and never will.

the thing is,

i have a choise whether i want to go there and play the high life game, but find it a lot of bollicks. :D

give me rambuttri street, the gecko bar and down to earth real people like " david j tayler " any day. :o

T57 - I used to think the same when I worked in London, with a high paying job, all the trimmings and always wanted more. So, I moved to Outer Mongolia...

Since I've been here (Bkk) for a few years (about 4 now), I wish I could go back to London and get my old job back...

As for that Rambuttri street mob of losers. :o

(not including your good self mate, you're special.)

Give me a nice bottle of Krug, a top London restaurant and a stroll around the amazing culture, that is England, anyday.

Nowadays, it's a chang, a plate of rice with pork, and hold my nose as I walk past PraKanong's open sewers, whilst trying to avoid falling down the holes in the pavement. - crap. :D

A middle path sounds good, as long as it's the best of both... oops, looking for more again. :D
