How was she able to live there for 5 YEARS??

Many people have lived in Thailand for well over five years without a murmur, the only problem started when the current green mob took over. Most people lived on back to back tourist visas ........ It worked well for everybody, leave the country every three months for a nice little sanity break, obtain a new tourist visa from the consulate and back you go, one after the other, nobody ever questioned it........ Ran like clockwork.....

Near the body was a green "Ferrari" bag containing medications, a sky blue purse and 700 baht.

No Myanmar worker would leave this (for him) big amount of money. No Thai worker too.

Very sorry for the woman.!

She is a Ukrain, not Ukrainian, just like people from Argentina are Argentine, not Argentinean, just because Americans use a word does not make it correct.
Pity they teach American English in Thai (inian) schools..!

Sorry mate.....wrong.

(Medical and forensic teams determined that she had been dead for between 14 and 17 days.)

What a ridiculous thing to state...an impossibility...they would be better saying between the date of her supposed disappearance and the date she was discovered.

Extensive microscopy work from slides and blood and fluid analysis would have to be done which could take up to 6 weeks, before any time frame could even be 'guessed'.

How about proof?  What about that well known forensics lady with the interesting streak in her hair? What does she think?  Many of us are not overly confident of the BiB's investigating prowess.  I got pulled over for walking too fast.

...you refer to Khunying Porntip, who is no longer the Director of Forensic Science and does not do any cases..maybe private work now...a wonderful clever, astute woman and much revered and respected in the Forensic Pathology world, such a pity the Police were forever trying to undermine who credibility.

Have you never watched CSI shows? You can estimate time of death based on how further along decomposition is, which also is affected by temperature and humidity, as well as insect and animal activity. You don't need to analyze blood and fluids or wait for toxicology to tell when the person died. Especially in cases where the body is mummified or is further along in the decomposition process, there might not be any blood or fluids left to analyze.

..ever watched CSI..get off the grass!..i have done this job as a real time career..and yes animal and insect larvae etc can assist to a certain extent, but you do not know when they arrived or left..this body wasn't mummified or preserved in any way it was covered with some fronds.

I believe it was koh phangan (sorry if I screwed up the phonetic spelling)

that was called “murder island” for a while not so long ago.

No, that is the third island Koh Tao that has that sad name.

Is it just me that doesn't have any sense of connection with this women? 32 year old living the life of Riley in Thailand and playing the field. True I have few facts regarding her situation but i've got this overwhelming feeling of "so what". There is so much going on right now that I just can't get excited about this soap opera that went terribly wrong. Must be getting old. IMHO the real victim is the child

what does your personal connection have to do with a woman possibly murdered?

and why would you feel the need to even share that.

that's why it's not exact science... I used the word ESTIMATE. Cause nobody can pinpoint the exact time, one can only estimate.
