Nathan Sorin and Sirawit Chanchota have been collecting plastic waste at tourist sites in Krabi province.

 

A Frenchman and his Thai friend have been applauded for collecting garbage off beaches in the southern Krabi province during the COVID-19 lockdown.
 

The 24-year-old student, Nathan Sorin, has taken an internship at a hotel in Krabi for nearly a year.  He and his friend, Sirawit Chanchota, have been collecting plastic waste at tourist sites in the past two months.

 

Krabi Governor Kitibhodi rawit on Thursday presented the two men certificates of recognition. The Governor said the Krabi administration lauded the two men’s volunteerism and awareness on environment conservation that deserved public recognition.

How about the Krabi Governor actually does something about the waste himself? I am sure they get a budget for it.

Just basic cleanliness...shouldn't take volunteers to embarass you into doing something

They know somebody else will pick up their trash, so they just continue.

Of course they applaud , They are to Lazy to put their Own Rubbish  in a Bin. that's normal.  

From the local fishing boats throwing all their trash into the water before heading to port. I caught one changing the oil on his longtail directly onto the water next to the beach. They don't even try to hide it because they did nothing wrong! ????
