    It could be the way the USB is formatted. NTFS is usually OK, but if it doesn't work, try the old format FAT32. Don't put anything important on the drives until you sort it.

    Lots of computer parts are build in China. Same like some expensive mobile phone with an American brand name.

I did the Quick Size Test, which got to 95% and no further. Then I started loading it by copying large video files on it to see how far I got and after reaching about 100 GBs it malfunctioned and is now not recognised at all. No big deal. I've contacted PayPal regarding a refund and they are dealing with it. I probably had nothing to lose by trying the product, so I did.
