Boat catches fire near Koh Larn after captain tries to cook dinner

The owner of a diving boat that caught fire off Koh Larn yesterday said that his captain admitted he was cooking a batch of curry on the second floor.

 

But he forgot about it while he was downstairs having a coffee and playing on his phone.

 

By the time he smelled smoke it was too late and Phaiboon, 59, and his wife couldn't tackle the blaze and fled their burning ship.

 

Jet-skis and nearby boats tacked the fire that burned out the entire top floor of the Saeng Arun.

 

Much diving equipment used in "seawalker" tours was damaged.

 

No injuries were reported in the incident.

Know the feeling .. I put a mini pizza in the oven then got on TVF .. the next thing the smoke alarm was going off in the kitchen and the pizza looked like a cremated penny when I opened the oven ..

Should carry a warning .. Do not cook and talk gollocks on TV at the same time ..

Clearly a man that should consider taking his wife to a restaurant instead of cooking. Would have been much cheaper and probably much better.

Maybe he should have asked his wife to do the cooking, then he could have done his manly duties as a Captain and then playing with his “phone“ or whatever he wants to call it.

A boy stood on a burning deck his pockets full of crackers.. a spark flew up and blew off his... K***kers.

I guess the tandoori oven wasn't a great idea, should have stuck to something less flammable.

The burning boat is surrounded by water,  you would feel kinda helpless in that situation.
