Popular Post problemfarang
Hi, So after a big failure from nonthaburi IO i went back to office. One of my friends there told me to go to chang wattana because my work permit is bangkok -my work is bangkok- And he told me im extending my visa due tho the salary income not 400K so it must be CW not the one where your home is. Think like your doing non-b its the same logic. only your visa is different. What he said make sense and also no. Nothing to lose, right?! Well just before lunch break i arrived to CW. Around 12:30 right after my post on nonthaburi IO. The lady at the info desk at the entrance checked my passport and told me there is no problem with my expired visa!!! yes she said that and actually she wrote on my paper i can do it till 31 july and no problem its expiredor not! she clearly said it in thai (i can speak fluent thai) and english. So if you guys living in bangkok area just go there even though you have expired visa (in my case non-o multi) Bur please note that im talking about expired non-o multi. then she saw my house book (nonthaburi) then she asked me why im not doing it there? well i told her my work permit is bangkok based and she checked it and.. ohh wait please... so she went to the guy next to her and asked him. He said hmm i think you can yes because your work permit is bangkok. I was like OMFG thank you. Please note that these two YES came from the guys at the lobby and the guys giving numbers. So i told them i cannot do today im here just to know what docs i need. So he said ok and gave me a number. that was a really fast then someone gave me the what need list. Then she send me to table no 27 to check with the documents. i must say the lady at the desk 27 was really not ok and not friendly at all or maybe my luck. She looked at the check list and circle section 5 which is about salary and income. I asked her about my work permit which is bangkok based. she said err errr... well i have no idea she understood my question o not. But she sounded like and her face looked like it was a half yes. So, in CW expired non-o multi is not a problem. My house location seems can be a problem.. 50-50. but my work permit (bangkok) seems might help me in my case. Well i will see in thursday. im going there with all docs on thursday. Will inform you guys. wish me luck any opinions @UbonJohn thanks

ubonjoe
It is normal that you would apply in the province where you are working and have a work permit issued there when applying for an extension based upon working. I don't think that would apply in your case since you are applying for one based upon marriage.

Yes if you have not applied for one since you last entered the country. Before doing it wait to see if they extend the amnesty. If they do you can wait until later.

If your wife was not with you when tried to apply for the 60 day extension that may the reason for it being denied since she has to be with you. No the reason at nonthaburi was because my visa is expired. For both extansion and 60 days. But CW said its not a problem I have no idea anymore. I accept that will leave the country and try to come back again. Seems there is no other solution Thursday will try CW first for 1 year if not, 60 days.. if not.. nothing to do.. go laos 14 days get non-o come back thailand 14 days... Seems there is no other solution If you cannot do it at CW, I am sure some agent serves Nonthaburi. A 60-day should not be prohibitive, because there is no district-level sign-off (extra 10K+ baht for that).

Thanks I've never even been there, but hopefully someone who lives there can help. It is even possible one of the Bangkok agents could handle it - should not require a 'law firm' or anything fancy. You certainly won't be getting into Laos anytime soon. So forget that option.

If your are the legal father of your child you could apply for a one year extension if you can meet the financial requirements.

They would of announced it already since nothing is required by the cabinet to do that. I think it will be done at next week's Tuesday cabinet meeting if it is put on the agenda. Smithson
The extension would be based on marriage, with the income from job that the WP is issued for. I'd previously heard that to do this the WP and extension need to be in the same province.

You do not have to be living where the work permit was issued. For one based upon working it has be done where the work permit was issued and where you are working.
