Video: Truck driver fined 500 baht for timber mishap

 

 

Police in Trat in eastern Thailand have said they fined a trucker and gave him a stiff warning. 

 

Bangern, 49, was summoned by Khao Saming police after a dash cam post showed several logs fall off his vehicle and nearly hit a motorcyclist in Sator sub-district. 

 

He was fined 500 baht for not properly securing his load, said Khao Saming chief Pol Col Sathian Laokermhung. 

 

He was also warned to be more careful in the future lest an even worse accident occur.

500 Baht, that will teach him. However we do not know about the "stiff" warning. Maybe they told him the next log falling off is going up his rear end? That would do the trick I guess.

I think if that had happened the fine would have been 600 B.  There must be a scale for these events.

I think the blame here also lies with the local Government....if not there was not so much potholes in the road the logs would never have fallen off!!
