Convicts ran a phishing scheme while inside - got 500K for gambling

Thailand's immigration police had an easy arrest after complaints were received that two victims had been defrauded of 500,000 baht in a phishing scheme.

 

Phana and Chusak pretended to be bank employees in order to open online accounts. They then got One Time Passwords from their victims in phone calls. 

 

All the while they were in Saraburi jail for a previous fraud. 

 

The money they siphoned off was used to fuel online gambling, said INN.
