Immigration: Red Bull "Boss" removed from blacklist on July 14th - no record of him coming back to Thailand

Deputy immigration spokesman Pol Col Phakkhapong Sai-udom told the press at the weekend that Red Bull heir Vorayuth "Boss" Yoovidhya was removed from an immigration blacklist on July 14th.

 

That day immigration had been told by Thong Lo police that charges against Boss had been dropped and so they acted accordingly as per the rules. 

 

Since that time there has been no record that Boss has returned to Thailand. 

 

The last record of him having exited Thailand was on the 25th of April 2017. 

 

In September 2012 Boss driving his black Ferrari was involved in a collision with Thong Lo policeman Pol Sgt-Maj Wichian Klanprasert in which the officer was dragged along the road and was killed. 

 

The dropping of all charges by the public prosecutor and the Thong Lo police has caused a massive furor in Thailand and been widely reported around the world amid allegations that there is one rule for the rich and one for the poor.  

 

Immigration promised to update the press if there are any developments.

He's probably been in the country just prior to the announcement that they were dropping the charges, all part of the plan.

 

We probably won't see or hear from him for a while as his family wouldn't want him on the local radar due to the flack they have been receiving of late, you know, bad for business.

I think he's been here plenty of times, coming and going as he likes. This new decision probably won't make much difference to his daily life.

So, he was removed from the blacklist on July 14th. after being informed by the police. They probably knew a few days before that, so why did it take until around 25th. to announce it to the public...........

Good point. 

 

However seems to me boss and his family could very easily get him into Thailand way outside of any immigration points or processes.

 

Example: a certain lady, proven that 2 or 3 police officers (not juniors) drove her to to the Cambodian border where there is no immigration/police presence and she was then taken to a remote airfield in Cambodia which has the length/facilities for private jets and is outside of aviation/flying rules and controls.

 

It can be done/it has been done.

 

This case also confirms what's already well known, RTO officers have no hesitation to get involved in illegal and unethical activities and those same officers can operate outside of any proper management controls. Happens every day. nobody ever mentions it. 

 

Back to boss, he is part of a very wealthy family which has global activities and massive various resources and all sorts of contacts. Seems to me they would likely have a private jet or 2, and/or hire private jets often. Seems to me they could very easily organize private flights 'off the radar' so to speak.

 

At the time of the incident:

 

- One media report that boss (his family?) had told his driver to come forward as the driver of the car but that didn't 'fly'.

 

- Another media report indicated that a senior cop had quickly visited the family mansion trying to set up another person as the driver. The whole thing was uncovered and the cop was severely punished. 

 

Now suddenly more 'new evidence'.  Spare me....

Rule 2. Rich person kill policeman let him keep delay court appearances so charges become Statute barred. Then when think nobody looking drop charges.

The police officer was killed in 2012 but Boss didn’t leave Thailand until 2017 that’s five years after he killed this police officer yet nothing was done to apprehend him WHY ?

Actually, you have it the wrong way around. Western Judeo-Christian cultures tend to be guilt-focused, which is about feeling bad for one's behaviour because it violates some objectives rules/norms (such as the 10 commandments). Eastern cultures are more shame-focused: it's about worrying what other people will think of you and feeling bad (shame/embarassment) when others think you've done something wrong. 'Face' is all about shame (not guilt). Shame is more Thai. [Do something bad when stranded on a desert isle, you can feel guilt but not shame ... unless you think your ancestors are looking down from the clouds].

There is such a concept as "loss of face" in Thailand. Call it what you like but lets appeal to that concept in shaming the people responsible for this perversion of justice.
