Bang Tao beach fence under investigation

PHUKET:-- Cherng Talay officials are to investigate a 300-metre-long fence made from sheets of galvanized tin that was erected along Bang Tao Beach, and which workers today (July 30) were dismantling.

 

Photos of the fence started gaining traction on Thai social media, along with claims that the fence was encroaching on state land, leading reporters to investigate.

 

Workers at the scene declined to reveal who they were working for, but today began pulling down the fence, which stood only 15-20 metres from the high-tide mark.

Phuket locals may remember ... blue water pipes filled with concrete were placed in the same spot about 4 years ago and had to be removed.

Back then the greedy land owner was trying to claim he owned half the width of the sand as well , and planned on filling over ( god knows what with )  it just like somebody got away with at the neighbouring Best Western.

There exists  at the Best Western , the appalling situation where-in boulders force walkers to wade up to their groins in order to pass at High Tide. I permanently discourage potential customers  to that Hotel as a result.

Taking the beach , that is essentially Crown Land  and an asset  for all , should be punished with prison sentences.

Here we go again......
