Video: Hunt on for Phetchabun pick-up driver who damaged water machine and fled the scene

CCTV footage from near a T-junction in the Ban Nam Deua Tai area of Phetchabun in north east Thailand showed the moment a pick-up failed to negotiate a bend on Saturday evening and smashed into a coin-op water facility.

A social media campaign immediately swung into action to find the miscreant who fled the scene.

A chase proved fruitless but it was soon discovered that the brown Isuzu was in Lomsak further north. The license plate and owner is now known.

A phu yai ban (village leader) called Phairin told the media that the coin-op machine was installed by the local authority to provide water to people at the bargain basement fee of 20 liters for 5 baht.

Lucky we have you and you have explained it all to us.

it was a drive thru in every sense by the miscreant but by the way the camera was shaking about there was an earthquake going on as well ..

To be fair, he may not have realised he hit something.

Thais have developed pointing into an art form. Had he not been pointing at the damage, few on here would know what to look at.????

with a bit of luck he might have rushed home and told his gardener to take the blame while he goes skiing in Switzerland for 7 years.

The camera was fitted to a pole... poles are usually the first thing taken out by pick-ups, it was probably shaking in fear.

First it was trees, the concrete electricity poles, now water machines and 7/11s... What will they throw in front of vehicles next?

just a guess , but it looks to me the driver wanted to damage the water machine considering it's an unfair competition to his business, meaning he is the owner of a shop selling water in bottles

At 0.25 a M/C swerves to the opposite side of the road. Was he avoiding the oncoming pick up? OR was the pick up trying to avoid him ? ????
