The majority of cases has been in SQs, since Thais aren't tested before entering Thailand.

Most cases have been Thais in SQ and they are not pre-tested. 2. It is quite common to test negative in the initial stages of infection. This is why the quarantine period is 14 days with a repeat test on day 13-14.

There are/were thousands of Thais working in the Arab world, mainly in the hospitality industry. Chefs, waiters, massage centres and spas, even hairdressers. I met my own Thai wife in a hotel spa in Egypt where she was working as a masseuse.

sammieuk1
The trouble I find when reading these ever continuing stories is the people and country that are telling them where truth is made up to fit any narrative of the day????
Dumbastheycome
Given the consistent rate of eligible returnees being discovered to be infected with C-19 I am bemused by the constant calls that the doors be thrown open to Tourists in general as some magical answer to economic woes. Are there really hordes of genuine Tourists desperate to risk infection and various resulting outcomes by undertaking international travel at this point in time? Or if there are so many are they really "tourists" or intentional refugees from locations that are more relatively high risk and/or living with mandatory restrictions on daily lives? That is a distinct difference to those possible that want to reunite with spouses and immediate family who although possibly numbering in the thousands are obviously well short of the historic millions who used to fuel tourism. Thailand can be seen to be a relatively safe haven and need guard against the very real risk of undoing the results of the approach it has taken. Scot123
So you are required to be tested before flying as well as a fit to fly doctors note, insurance etc, then you get on a flight then tested again and then before you leave quarantine or after you get out you mysteriously have Covid! Is it not possible or more likely that Thailand is infecting them? Be it in the quarantine hotels or there actually being far more Covid in thailand than the General is saying because he has been so honest so far about all things!!! bradiston
So it's quite possible to become infected by an untested returner if on the same flight, even after all the precautions you've had to take? It's just completely mad. The untested could infect the whole flight if later found to be positive. Ok so they're all headed for quarantine in any case, but so what? DogNo1
Thais not tested before flying and now it is proposed to admit tourists after Oct. 1st without requiring them to quarantine. Additionally there is no tracking requirement for Thai returnees but there must be one for foreigners. What a confused mess!
Jumbo1968
Why do they hospitalise everyone who Is a systematic, unless you have underlying health problems you are at no risk as long as you self isolate.
